Retail design is a commercial discipline and highly dynamic sector that combines several different areas of expertise together in the design and construction of a space for commerce/trade.

This subject aims to introduce students to the design process skills, methods and problem solving necessary for the development of innovative design solutions for retail spaces.

P R O F I L E

TEACHING STRATEGIES:

Through a series of class activities supported by lectures and seminars students are expected to gain practical knowledge of human factors and circulation patterns in space planning, knowledge of environmental systems, furniture, display techniques, materials and finishes. At the end of this course students are able to produce adequate design solutions when presenting their creative design ideas.

The program consists of theory based lectures and project based assessment.
