Coffee O'Clock - Singapore

Updated: Feb 27

Well hello there, it's been a while... I honestly don't remember when was the last time I posted here. It's been a busy few months, or should I say a year, a lot has happened. It is no longer pandemic (thank God for this... it was getting a bit out of hand) and I got the chance to travel a bit. Not as much as I would have liked, but still managed to go back home a few times and ticked some beautiful destinations off my list - yes we are speaking Singapore of course! Seoul (I kind of surprised myself with that one, actually, but more on that later...) and can you believe it Doha! (I surprised myself and everyone else around me even more!). So yes... after two years in South-East Asia and living literally a bridge away from Singapore I finally got to visit the place and oh boy... It is something spectacular, and again more on that later... sorry, too many things to catch up on. Composing these 'masterpiece' of blog text I realise that one indeed falls out of practice with writing, therefore I have decided to keep it simple and keep it short with this 'return' post. If I have to give you just some of the highlights of the last year and Singapore specifically, my time consisted of a lot of day trips, a few sleepovers, many closed Apple watch rings, just as many completed walking workouts, sweat, heat, rain, 6 'Seven-Eleven' Umbrellas (the collection keeps on growing...), thousands of photos, a few too many Instagram reels, way too many pieces of cake and even more cups of coffee-hot and iced. If you haven't noticed from reading the title, this will be a coffee themed post (one of my favourite types, you may find more of these here). Coffee was and still is an essential part of my life and especially needed on my little adventures of the lush island. The cafe culture in Singapore is not that different from any other place I have been to. It is clear by now that the 'Globalisation' trend exists and is taking over with lightning speed, but despite the fact that many of the places I have visited and continue visiting are not particularly expressing traditional local authenticity, they still present an interesting mixture of international style with a kind of twist, which I am still in the process of defining. Because this is me and I am still very much a designer, most of the places I will share below come in a lovely interior package, which hopefully would introduce you nicely to the marvel that is Singapore. Without further ado, here are my top cafes on the sovereign island country (as of 26 February 2023).
