London Favour-Eats Sushi Samba

Well, well, well, food is coming your way. And not just anything but a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian culture and cuisine. Sushisamba, a restaurant I only learned about on the day I actually got into the place, but what a delightful surprise! A very special dance between the energy and spirit of the three cultures. The integration of Japanese cuisine commenced in the early 20th century, when thousands of Japanese emigrants traveled to South America in the search of better life. Since then it has been flourishing in colour and flavour bringing unique combinations, tastes and presentations to the bravest and most adventurous gourmand. The motto: "Beating at the heart of every SushiSamba is a deep appreciation for enjoying life and celebrating with friends."

Don't be fooled by Instagram images, portions are big enough and you will feel full quite quickly, although the food is light. Plus make sure you don't start the dinner with a dessert cocktail, leave these for last! My list of recommendations bellow:

GREEN BEAN TEMPURA

CHICHARRON DE CALAMMAR

LAMB CHOP

BLACK COD

LOBSTER MAKI

LYCHEE COOLER

BINCHO DOUBLE BLACK SOUR

Design wise... speechless here. The aim of the interior of every SUSHISAMBA is to evoke images of Brazil’s annual Carnaval celebration. The signature use of colours is mango, rich red, lime and gold cast a uniquely rosy glow on each restaurant day or night. Floating 38th floors above ground, SushiSamba City, features the highest outdoor dining terrace in Europe. Bonus is the 360 degree view of mesmerising London. A beautiful grid of light fixtures fills the ceilings creating a magical experience during both daytime and nighttime. Almost like flying amongst the stars, for a truly intimate setting.

The sushi bar plays an important role in each restaurant, an exclusive centrepiece - the tree sculpture reinforces the earth-to-sky motif while being an artwork in itself.

Enjoy!
